ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Oran Greier. I’m glad you have chosen to look for some support for what is burdening you.

Here you can read more about me, my approach and my background.

I was born in New York and have lived in several countries since. For over a decade now I’ve been living and working in Berlin.

MY PERSPECTIVE & THERAPEUTIC APPROACH

We all have bigger and smaller challenges that we deal with in our life, and I see this is a part of our human experience. Sometimes we need support and guidance, during a certain phase or as a longer journey.

As a therapist, I view people from a humanistic and holistic perspective. We all have inner resources and needs that seek to be discovered and expressed and I have come to see through experience that our mind and body are closely linked in that. I believe that we have a natural tendency toward self-healing, which can sometimes, for one reason or another, be blocked. By getting to know ourselves better in the empathetic environment of therapy and accepting different parts of ourselves, we open up our path to self-healing and can begin to build a life that suits us better and feels more authentic and fulfilling.

In the therapy, I include aspects of depth psychology, the approach on which my art therapy studies were based. This means that together we can explore the unconscious dynamics and patterns that are connected to the challenges you face. Art is an inviting and at the same time safe place to explore these.

I maintain the core view that it is you who knows what is right and best for you, even when you are not entirely aware of what it is. I therefore find it especially valuable in the therapy to strengthen and deepen the connection between you and yourself – to discover this connection, permit it to be, and follow its guidance.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND & STUDIES

I’m an art therapist (M.A. at Berlin Weißensee University, 2020; Member of the German Association for Art Therapy DFKGT) and a licensed non-medical practitioner (HeilPG, 2021) as well as an artistic photographer.

I worked and interned as an art therapist in psychiatric and psychosomatic clinics with adults and teens, both in individual and group sessions, at Charité in Berlin, Oberhavel Kliniken in Hennigsdorf and Alexianer St. Joseph in Berlin.

In addition, I have completed further education courses in Therapeutic Photography (Dr. Neil Gibson, 2025), Guided Affective Imagery (REKS, 2021-22) and Coaching for Highly Sensitive People (Aurum Cordis, 2021). I regularly attend international online conferences on arts therapies and high sensitivity.

My artistic education began in my childhood with various art courses and continued later with the completion of a B.A. in Photography and Graphic Design (University of the Arts, Linz, Austria, 2009) and an M.A. in Audiovisual Media Culture (University of Lapland, Rovaniemi, Finland, 2012).
